Details, Details...... What is more important than the details? I think the wedding ceremony is about the couple and the reception is about celebrating with your guest who have come to witness your vows. When it come to the reception it should be all about wowing you guests. In the same manner they should feel welcomed from the moment they arrive at your wedding weather that be days before for your out of town visitors or your destination wedding guests. The welcome basket is a great way to welcome guests and make them feel important. I love the idea of including elements of the surrounding area of your venue. Her are some idea for the welcome bag goodies.
{Wine Country}
small bottle of wine map of the area
small bottle of wine map of the area
grapes

winery map
{Tahoe/Foothills}

A good rule of thumb is to fill canvas bags with goodies your wedding city is famous for. Canvas bags are perfect because they can easily be packed away in a suitcase or used as a carry on for the trip home. They can also be printed on with your monogram or you can find one that matches your wedding theme or color scheme.
I would also include a itinerary of your weddings events for those who are invited ie. rehearsal dinner, Sunday brunch, golf tournament ect.
Love it! :)
