Friday Detail Day {Table Numbers}

I adore unique ways to display table numbers. I cannot get enough. I am working up a few new ideas of my own but I thought I would share a few fab ideas I have come across.

Martha Stewart took rocks and stamped them with white table numbers. How amazing!

These tea cups are a great idea for a garden wedding {source unknown}.

Martha Stewart's wine bottle label idea takes the cake!

I love the idea of taking these tall stands and burying the bottom in a low floral arrangement and having the number stand above.

These spice jars from Anthropologie are a casual chic way to display table numbers.
Hope this gives you a little inspiration. Happy Friday Everyone!
Don't forget about our giveaway ending next week!!!

Decode the Dress Code

Choosing a dress code for your event can be quite difficult. Before you tell your guests what to wear, be sure you understand each dress code. I have broken it down for you to keep the guessing game out of it. Your Welcome!

{White tie}

Male guests should wear a black tail coat, matching pants, white bow tie, white piqué shirt and white vest. Women wear floor-length or ball gowns.

{Black tie}

Men wear tuxedos; women don floor-length gowns or cocktail dresses that go beyond the little black dress( think ruffles, sequins or other embellishments).

{Black tie optional}

Tuxedos and suits are equally appropriate for male guests, while women can wear either a cocktail dress or straight floor-length gown (but not ball gown).

{Cocktail attire}

Men wear suits; women arrive in either knee-length dresses or dressy pants (such as tuxedo style) paired with a silk, chiffon or otherwise evening appropriate blouse.

{Festive attire}

Though it may seem very vague, this allows guests to have fun with their attire. The fashion-forward and daring types will take it as a license to wear whatever they please, and the others will probably stick to cocktail looks.

{No dress code}

Guests will take their cues from the time of day, season and location of the wedding or event.

Friday Detail Day

Details, Details...... What is more important than the details? I think the wedding ceremony is about the couple and the reception is about celebrating with your guest who have come to witness your vows. When it come to the reception it should be all about wowing you guests. In the same manner they should feel welcomed from the moment they arrive at your wedding weather that be days before for your out of town visitors or your destination wedding guests. The welcome basket is a great way to welcome guests and make them feel important. I love the idea of including elements of the surrounding area of your venue. Her are some idea for the welcome bag goodies.

{Wine Country}
small bottle of wine map of the area
grapes
cheese
mini baguette
winery map
{Tahoe/Foothills}
sunscreen
information for bike, kayak ect. rentals
water bottles
granola bars

{beach wedding}
towel
water bottles
Sunscreen
flip flops

A good rule of thumb is to fill canvas bags with goodies your wedding city is famous for. Canvas bags are perfect because they can easily be packed away in a suitcase or used as a carry on for the trip home. They can also be printed on with your monogram or you can find one that matches your wedding theme or color scheme.

I would also include a itinerary of your weddings events for those who are invited ie. rehearsal dinner, Sunday brunch, golf tournament ect.

Back to School Social

So yesterdays event went off perfectly. The Benicia Arsenal is an amazing setting for any event. Benicia Unified gave me a tight budget to work with and with help from the community everything was beautiful. We had simple flower arrangements done by Victoria's Designs. Wine was donated by to local hot spots The Chill and The Rellik Tavern. I did the event design/ planning as well as the invitations, programs and other paper products.
The event was to welcome new staff and honor the longevity of faculty. Thank you to everyone that helped.

Here's to another wonderful school year!

Holy Macarons!!

Etsy Finds

I just love Etsy! There are so many gorgeous handmade pieces and vintage treasures. I can spend countless hours searching through page after page of amazing garmets, accessories and much much more. Etsy is a great stop for finding items to make your wedding unique. I found some amazing headpieces for the edgy bride that I just had to share. I have listed the sellers name under each piece.

New Green Spin on Favors

Favors have evolved so much since the Jordan almonds wrapped in tulle from the late 1980's. Today's selection of favors are vast. I have come across some amazing ideas for "green" favors. I love the organic earthy feel of these ideas. Any one of them would go great with an eco-friendly wedding.

Check out these beautiful ideas.

Black and White Inspiration board

I love the drama created by contrasting colors. Black and white are so classic and elegant. I put together this inspiration board filled with details from my own wedding. The great thing about black and white is they are great colors on their own or you can add in any color for a more contemporary look.

{Wedding wands, Alfani shoes, escort cards, invitations,

bridesmaid bouquet, save-the-date, tablescape}

Save the Date

Make sure you send your save-the-date cards as soon as you have booked the location, especially if the wedding date falls on or near a holiday or school break. {Caution} Make sure your budget will accommodate all the guests you plan to invite. You can always send and invitation to a guest you did not send a save-the-date to, but you cannot send a save-the-date to someone and then choose not to invite them.

Here are some fabulous save-the-date ideas.

I ♥ vintage umbrellas

I am absolutely in love with vintage umbrellas and Bella Umbrellas are my favorite. Bella has done phenominal staying true to the vintage styling of each era.

I love what the classic romance umbrellas add to a wedding. They are a perfect detail for sprinkling, fall weddings or to shade guests from the hot sun in summer. As an added bonus they look gorgeous in photographs.

I sell Bella Umbrellas if anyone is interested, they range from $80.00-$200.00. Please contact me for styles and prices. You can also rent them for your event.

They are made of great quality fabrics and are adorned with vintage inspired handles. The umbrellas come in a variety of colors and styles. I adore the Victorian Pagoda shape made popular in the late 1930's. Check them out in the pictures below.
