Real Wedding::My BIG DAY!!!

I have been meaning to post my wedding for quite sometime but I have had the hardest time choosing which pictures to post of the over 500 stunning images Christine Taylor captured. So I think I will do a few posts.
{PRE-WEDDING}
My BIG DAY took place on August 3rd, 2007 in Fremont California at the gorgeous venue of the Palmdale Estates.
Our save the date and invitations were both black and white and adorn with flourishes to portray our vintage inspiration. Our save the dates were created by Amanda Paper and the invitations were designed by yours truly and printed by a local invitation studio.

I wore a Mori Lee dress with a mermaid silhouette. It had fabulous crystal details and ruching on the sides and through the back. The details of this dress were what sold me. The back of the dress had buttons and the train was long and simple.My bouquet was filled with white and dusty rose flowers surrounded by white ostrich feather and wrapped in white ribbon and secured with my great grandmothers vintage broach(something old)!

My beautiful Maids wore long black chiffon Belsoie dresses. They has a silk sweetheart neckline and were also a mermaid silhouette with a little flowing train. I purchased them all vintage broaches as part of their gifts. These broaches were worn right at the peek of the sweetheart neckline. Their bouquets were filled with black and white flowers as well as a few curly pods. They were surrounded by black ostrich feathers to give them that old Hollywood feel. The handle of the bouquets was wrapped in black ribbon and secured with vintage buttons I found in an old antique store.

The groom and groomsmen wore Liz Claiborne pinstripe tuxedos with pinstriped vests. The groom wore a black shirt with a paisley tie we purchased. The groomsmen sported White shirts with Black and silver paisley ties that we gave them as part of their gifts.

MORE TO COME TOMORROW!

Inspired by Paper {Wedding Menu}

This wedding menu was created for a traditional wedding. I love the classic look it offers. This Menu can be used soften a bright color palette or tie together a black and white wedding. You can find this menu in our Etsy store. I created and inspiration board in black and white to match this menu. Please enjoy!

Back to School Social

So yesterdays event went off perfectly. The Benicia Arsenal is an amazing setting for any event. Benicia Unified gave me a tight budget to work with and with help from the community everything was beautiful. We had simple flower arrangements done by Victoria's Designs. Wine was donated by to local hot spots The Chill and The Rellik Tavern. I did the event design/ planning as well as the invitations, programs and other paper products.
The event was to welcome new staff and honor the longevity of faculty. Thank you to everyone that helped.

Here's to another wonderful school year!

Black and White Inspiration board

I love the drama created by contrasting colors. Black and white are so classic and elegant. I put together this inspiration board filled with details from my own wedding. The great thing about black and white is they are great colors on their own or you can add in any color for a more contemporary look.

Historic Wedding Venue

Yesterday I met with the woman behind Benicia Arsenal Weddings located in the East Bay. I fell in love with this location. This venue is fairly new, so it is relatively inexpensive and such a perfect blank canvas. I love the old brick walls and arched doorways. It has a beautiful bar area with a black and white checkered floor. If you are looking for a historic location for an event in the San Francisco bay area this is a great place to check out. Be sure to tell them Erin Taylor from Soiree sent you.

This venue can accommodate up to 300 guests. It has a perfect location for a ceremony and and/or a reception. They also offer package deals for a great price. If you would like to bring in your own outside caterer that is fine as well.

I am currently working on an event that will take place there for the local school district.

I ♥ Anemones

Flowers are so very important in any event. They brighten up a room and bring the outdoors in. They can also add color to the green of an outdoor wedding. I love using a ton of flowers in the events I design. A bouquet acts almost as the center piece of the bride's/ bridesmaid's dresses.

Anemones are my absolute favorite flower especially the white ones with black centers. The contrast in color is stunning. This bouquet by Martha Stewart is fabulous. I love the simple regal feel of the bouquet.
I can't get enough of this flower. It comes in a wide array of colors. I love this purple varietal as well, and am highly considering it for an upcoming wedding I am working on that is centering on purple and gray as the color pallet.
