::::Something Old::::

For the rest of this week I am going to be doing posts based of the old saying "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue".

Today we are looking at something old. If among the few lucky girls who can actually pull of their mother wedding gown you have this one covered, but if not, here are few ideas.

A vintage engagement ring or wedding band.

A veil your mother or grandmother wore or one you pick up at a vintage shop.

Antique or heirloom earrings, necklace or bracelet.

A tiny vintage clutch or purse to use for your money dance.Vintage buttons are perfect to add to your dress or put them on your bouquet.

Antique lace used as a wrap around your bouquet.

Adding your grandmothers or mothers old brooch pin to your bouquet or garter.

What's happening at the Boutique?

This week wedding season is back in full force. I have been printing, cutting and assembling like a mad woman. I completed a brides Save the Dates and placed paper orders for all the upcoming weddings. This week my to do list includes finish the design of more invitations and meet with many more brides to finalize plans. I am also meeting with caterers and getting quotes for lighting packages.

I am loving every single one of my very different brides. This wedding season will be so much fun!!!

Happy Planning!!

Family Portraits

I know, I know this is not really about weddings but I came across my cousins family portraits they just had taken by this amazing photographer in the San Francisco bay area and feel in love I just had to share. Prokopets Studio takes amazing photos and does a great job capturing the day. Check out their website and blog for more of their work or to see more of this fabulous family.

Some Winter Whites

Well hello there my fabulous brides. Sorry for the lack of post yesterday we decided to leave LA in the morning so we would not hit any traffic on our way home and we made the right decision because we had clear sailing all 7 hours.

Today I wanted to share with you another one of my favorite flowers. Paper Whites make an amazing flower for a winter bouquet. I love them in a big bunch by themselves. There is something so whimsical about this dainty little flower that screams romance. The little pop of yellow in the middle gives way to spring as well. If you are having a winter wedding or a spring fling keep this simple little flower in mind.
Happy planning and have an amazing weekend gorgeous readers!!

Uganda Jewelry Party

This weekend I had the honor of designing a jewelry party for an amazing cause. Every other year at this time my Dad goes to Uganda to visit different villages and help with the AIDS orphans. This year he decided to purchase a lot of the jewelry the women make and sell in order to provide for there families. My mom then planned on having over many of her friends to sell the jewelry and baskets at a higher price and donate all of the proceeds back to the women who made them.

I want to stick with a rustic fall theme and let the beautiful jewelry be the star of the show. We offered appetizers, wine and small desserts.

For the arrangements I used green button mums, feathers, curly willow and other sticks and fuzzy fox tails. I also set up the jewelry on custom jewelry stands and laid them on the tables in three different locations.

Thank you to everyone who came we raise a great amount of money to send back to Uganda!!!
This week I am working on a Thanksgiving for a client of mine and I will be posting pictures next week!

The First Impressions

The very first thing people see at your wedding is your ceremony. The ceremony can be the first place your guests experience your decor and theme. Make sure that all of your wedding decor is cohesive with the decor of the reception the two should flow together to create a wonderful theme.

Check out these amazing ideas I hope they will inspire you! Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Tall Centerpieces

Centerpieces with height add dimension to a room. I find it captivating what bride goes with a super tall centerpiece. Though it truly depends on what your reception venue is. If it is a small room or has very low ceilings a tall floral arrangement might look out of place, but if you are in a ball room or outdoors a tall piece will draw the eye up and make the large space feel more full.

For the same look at a lower cost you could alternate between low and high centerpieces.

Check out a few of these gorgeous centerpieces.
Which is your fav?
