Floral with Fabric

Fabric flowers are so soft and romantic. There are so many great ways to use fabric flowers to make your event a little different. They can be used in place of fresh flowers or even in partnership with fresh ones. I love adding them to favors, escort cards and headpieces. Here are few ideas to get your wheels spinning.

Real Wedding {A Modern Romance} 2

I am back with more of the modern romantic details from Marco & Lindsays wedding.

To keep with the modern feel I made all the signage with pieces of plexiglass and the printed signs.

The couples new last name started with a "B" and they really wanted to incorporate that into their day so we created their monogram "B" and used it on many of their paper items and also had custom stir sticks made with the monogram for their Mojito signature drink.

For the couples favors they wanted a candy buffet, so Bustle created pearl color bags with purple ribbon and a custom label as well as labels for all of the candy. Guests enjoyed filling their bags with an assortment of silver and white candies.

Last but not least this gorgeous cake was made buy Julie Myers and it had the most subtle details. Julie created a pattern out of three tiny dots and the couples first initials along the bottom of each layer in a monotone white. She then placed the dahlias and orchids to create a cascade of color and topped it off with the signature "B".

Thank you Marco and Lindsay for letting Bustle be a part of your day!

Real Wedding Details: A Modern Romance

Today I have some modern details for you from a wedding Bustle did last month. I am still awaiting the photos from the couples photographer, but I do have the photos from the talented Christine Taylor who came and shot all of the details.

Lindsay & Marco wanted a very romantic Catholic mass ceremony complete with this gorgeous rosary. I don't think I have ever seen such a beautiful rosary. Lindsay had her dress custom made by a local seamstress {you will have to wait to see the whole thing}.

For the reception we wanted to carry over the romantic feel, but also add a twist of modern. We wanted her seating board to be something full of glitz and glamore. The reception took place in Benicia, California in the old arsenal building. Here are the details.....
We took clear Lucite trays and placed the seating cards I designed in them, we then poured thousands of tiny crystals into the trays around the cards. It turned out to be one of our most favorite seating boards ever!!

Another fun detail was the midnight snack which we chose to incorporate the bride and grooms ethnicity by packaging a Mexican wedding cookie and a biscotti in a clear bag with a simple label designed by yours truly.
For the centerpieces we wanted a more modern feel with very soft romantic colors, so we did four different vases. Each vase was filled with one type of flower, one round long neck bud vase with a single parrot tulip, tall cylinder vases with dahlias, low round cylinder vases with fuchsia peonies and a flat circular bud vase with a single orchid. The combo of all the vases and flowers made for modern romantic feel. We chose to put glittery numbers on the round long neck vase to act as the table numbers. This let the guest know which table they were at with out taking away from the stunning vases.
The place settings were very simple with the napkin hanging off the edge of the table and then the Bustle designed menus sitting right on top of the napkins. The linens were a crushed iridescent ivory with ivory cotton napkins to make the flowers pop on the table.
Because of Lindsay's love for any and everything sparkly we hung chandelier crystals over the bar. This added such a luxurious feel and was the perfect touch.
I will have more details for you in a few hours.
